Easy, Breezy, Outdoors

This year, monochromatic neutrals and soft, breezy linens took over in terms of wedding aesthetic. Nothing too fussy or over-the-top, as many weddings were in backyards and outdoor settings, and were still relatively small. Classic table decor, heirloom, and vintage objects also took front and centre for accent items, allowing each wedding to be distinct and personal. Wedding Bells magazine called calming, blue tones their must-have colour palette for 2021.

Luxurious, Intimate, Indoors

Indoor weddings returned in 2021, but mostly for intimate small groups. For these kinds of weddings, we’re seeing very rich, luxe touches, and layers. Be sure your venue can offer various shapes and sizes of table linens, including floor-length, overlays, circular options, and napkins. Having all of these on-hand is a huge value add for wedding clients. Make sure your collection of linens gives wedding clients the freedom to pick and choose, creating their personal aesthetic.

Predictions for 2022

With the uncertainty regarding event capacities in 2022, most wedding experts are predicting a similar landscape to 2021—more than average outdoor weddings, low-key, nature-inspired decor, and small indoor weddings. But, we, along with other sources are predicting the return of destination weddings, maybe just closer to home. 

Destination weddings within Canada look promising. Think Vancouver Island, Niagara-on-the-Lake, or oceanside on Prince Edward Island. The incredible destinations in our own backyards will take front-and-centre when planning weddings for 2022.

Make sure your venue is equipped to cater to wedding clients who are excited to finally celebrate—as many have put off their weddings for at least two years. Clients planning destination weddings want their venue to be able to offer as much as possible for their big day, so they don’t have to contact multiple vendors—so make sure your linens and decor offering is convenient for clients, plus competitive.
